THAXTED FRIDAY MARKET

Regular stalls include Fruit & Vegetables, Groceries, Wet fish and Cheese.

Other stalls sometimes present are: Bread and specialist Patisserie, Household items, ladies clothing and Greek, French & Spanish specialities.

The Market operates every Friday from 7 am to 2 pm.

In accordance with its powers under Sections 50, 52 and 53 of Part III of the Food Act 1984, Thaxted Parish Council took over the running of the Market on 1st January 2008.   The routine administration is through the Thaxted Parish Office, which is responsible for its control and regulation, and managing which goods are sold.   It is considered important that stalls do not conflict with the interests of the shopkeepers of Thaxted. The day to day running of the Market is delegated to the Market Officer.
